BlueGrass WindPower, LLC, is a woman-owned small business in Lexington, KY, founded to provide affordable wind energy generator systems for Kentuckians to harness their local winds and convert them to electricity.

Toni Kirkner is founder and managing member, and was born and raised in northern Kentucky. After living and working in 8 different states, in 22 different residences, she came home to Kentucky to raise her family, settling in Central Kentucky. She has lived in the Bluegrass for the past 16 years, in Lexington and on 2 windy rural properties in Jessamine and Bourbon counties.

Toni holds degrees from 2 universities, one, a Big Ten bachelor’s degree and the other, an Ivy League master’s degree. (But don’t hold that against her, she never left her Kentucky sensibility behind; she took it with her wherever she traveled!)

After 20 years of inquiry, study, and a master’s degree in environmental studies, Toni believes that promoting simple, affordable, accessible, “common-sense sustainability" to the average American (family) will make the biggest impact on America’s energy crisis and other environmental issues. This is what inspires, motivates, and drives her and why she founded BlueGrass WindPower.
